Choose a tin box supplier with less guesswork.

A low price is not enough. For a custom tin box project, you also need a supplier who can explain molds, artwork, samples and the risks that show up in bulk production.

What buyers usually worry about

  • Is this a real factory or just another middleman?
  • Will my artwork still look good after forming?
  • Do we really need a new mold?
  • Will the lid, color and surface stay consistent in bulk?
  • What are the real MOQ, sample time and delivery steps?

Not sure which mold fits? Send us your size.

Many custom tin box projects do not need a brand-new mold. Send us your product size and use. We will first look for a close existing tin size, then explain what changes would cost before you commit.

01

Send your size

Share the product size, quantity and destination market. We first check whether a current tin size is close enough.

02

Choose the shape

Round, square, rectangular, hinged, sliding, screw and window tins all work differently in use.

03

Know the tooling steps

If a new mold is needed, we explain the steps before steel tooling and bulk production begin. You can also read how a prototype sample can reduce wasted tooling cost .

Tell us what kind of tin box you need.

Use, shape, lid and finish all affect the quote. Start here, and we can check molds, samples and packing details faster.

01

Food-contact tins

Tell us the product, market and coating needs. These details affect odor control, test reports, inner coating and export packing.

02

Retail and gift tins

Plan around shelf impact, opening feel and season timing. Inserts, embossing and finish choices can change both cost and sample approval.

03

Irregular-shaped tins

Star, heart, truck, book-shaped, map-shaped and other custom shapes need early mold review, forming checks, edge control, lid fit and PPS approval.

04

Lid and opening style

Choose the lid by use, display and stability. Hinged, sliding, window, screw, slip and latch lids change the opening feel and sample check.

Send what you have. We will help with the rest.

A useful custom tin box quote starts with the basics: size, use, quantity, artwork status and delivery country. With those details, we can check mold options and give you a clearer next step.

Tip for a faster reply: send the product size, target quantity and artwork status first. We can then see whether an existing mold may work.

What to send us

Send what you have. We will help fill in the missing parts before preparing a custom tin box quote.

  • Target size or sample tin
  • Estimated order quantity

From artwork to bulk tins, step by step.

Here is a real C-TRON truck tin project path: artwork file, effect drawing, printed tinplate, physical sample, PPS (Pre-production Sample) approval and bulk tins.

01

Artwork file

We start with the customer's artwork, die-line, color notes and part layout.

02

Effect drawing

The artwork is reviewed against the truck shape so the buyer can see the look before sampling.

03

Physical sample

A real sample checks the shape, lid fit, printing position, coating and opening feel.

04

Sample approval

The approved PPS (Pre-production Sample) becomes the reference for bulk production.

05

Bulk tins

Bulk tins are produced, checked, packed and loaded for export based on the approved sample.

Keep the bulk order close to the approved sample.

A custom tin box is more than a printed container. The lid fit, color, material thickness and export packing all affect how the final order feels and performs.

Talk to TDTIN About Your Project

Color and printing

Bulk color is compared with the approved PPS (Pre-production Sample) or color standard, not judged by eye alone.

Lid fit and structure

We look at lid tightness, alignment, burrs, deformation, scratches and forming quality.

Export packing

Cartons, dividers, bags, reinforced boxes and pallets are chosen based on tin shape and transport risk.

Typical MOQ
Usually 5,000 pcs for custom orders. Very large tins may start from 3,000 pcs. Special sizes need project confirmation.
Sample timing
Samples are usually around 14 days, depending on tooling, printing and project complexity.
Bulk production
Orders below 100,000 pcs can usually be completed in about 25 days after PPS approval. Larger or complex orders need confirmed scheduling.
Material reference
0.23 mm tinplate is common. Small tins may use 0.20 mm; large or stronger tins may use 0.25 mm or 0.28 mm after confirmation.

Use the PPS to lock in details before producing bulk tins.

For custom tins, the approved PPS (Pre-production Sample) is the working reference for bulk production. It helps both sides check visible details before production moves too far.

  • Compare the previous sample with the approved PPS.
  • Check color, printing position, lid fit and opening feel.
  • Review inside structure, barcode position and packing needs.
  • Use the approved sample as the reference for bulk tin inspection.

Look behind the price.

A reliable tin box supplier should show more than a low unit price. Review the workshop, mold room, sample room, production lines and warehouse before you decide.
